Shaun completed his degree and legal training in Queensland. He worked
for Legal Aid Queensland, in the civil, family and criminal law
divisions, before moving to Melbourne to take up a position with Doogue
and O’Brien Solicitors in 2004. His interest in social justice is evident through his involvement in
the Broadmeadows Community Legal Service, where he has for the last 5
years he worked as a volunteer solicitor. Shaun is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for his clients through the application of a strong work ethic, thorough preparation and planning. Shaun appears regularly in the Magistrates Court for contested cases (contested hearings, bail applications) and non-contested cases (pleas of guilty). Shaun also regularly appears in the County Court for Appeals (against conviction or sentence) and pleas of guilty. Outside of work, Shaun enjoys an active lifestyle, keeping fit through middle distance running and where time permits, attending the gym. Since arriving in Melbourne he has become a keen AFL follower, having been converted from rugby league. The conversion has not however been absolute. Despite constant derision from his wife and her large extended family, Shaun still follows the fortunes of the Brisbane Lions. Receiving a charge for any police matter will provoke uncertainty and distress. Instructing Shaun to represent you will ensure some peace of mind through this difficult period. |
