Prior to coming to the law, Paul worked for 12 years as a registered
nurse, predominantly in the area of intensive care nursing, and he
brings this knowledge and experience to his work as a criminal defence
lawyer. Paul’s interest in the law was piqued while he was working as
a nurse, and he decided to return to study to fulfill a desire to
become a criminal defence lawyer. Paul studied law part-time at Monash
University, whilst working as a nurse, completing his Juris Doctor in
2004. For a time he was the face of the Monash Postgraduate Degree
Program. While studying, Paul worked voluntarily as part of the
administrative staff at the Mental Health Legal Service. Paul also has a keen interest in psychology, and has an undergraduate degree in that field. Paul has been a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) since before his admission as a lawyer, and is a member of the Young Lawyers section of the LIV. Outside of work, Paul enjoys learning Greek, reading, travelling and digital photography. To read a case study of one of Paul’s successful drink driving cases click here. |
